Petroleum Fuel Supply

In Africa Petroleum Supply is an existential issue particularly for land-locked countries of which there are 16 or 27% of Africa’s population. There are 42 refineries in Africa producing X% of finished product requirements. The World Bank recommends that all countries should retain at least x months and for landlocked xx months.

Very few countries in Sub Saharan countries maintain this level of supply and many are substantially below the recommended levels. Key concerns for countries are:

  • Lack of adequate strategic storage capacity and geographic deployment
  • Lack of Fuel Supply Chain control and dependence on myriad middle men networks often with limited transparency
  • Limited access to flexible funding options to drive Supply Chain change
  • Inadequate access to hedging instruments options to dampen price volatility

At RMHL we bring pragmatic solutions to these issues. We have planned and implemented strategic storage solutions integrated to macro and micro logistics plans

Our Fuel Supply solutions are predicated on reducing Supply Chain participants and providing increased direct access to refineries and deliver monetary benefit to African countries.

We have developed and implemented innovative solutions to fund Fuel Supply Chains, ensure the optimum use of scarce Liquid Resources and ensure that appropriate taxes and excise duties are collected and accounted for.

At RMHL we can access the London and New York markets for appropriate hedging options. We have direct access to Lloyds of London to underwrite these facilities.

We have confidentiality agreements in place with the clients referred to above. We can supply details of these engagements once primary Due Diligence is conducted.
